Boost is a student-run organisation so it would be preferred if you're a student. However if you're on a gap year or just graduated, it's not a problem.
Also there's no clause in the association rules that you can't apply if you're not a student. So if you have good reason that you want to be part of the board, you can always apply :)!
Approximately the Chairperson takes about 20-25 hours per week and board member 10-15 hours per week.
This depends completely on you! If you're really passionate about some project that you want to build during your term, you'll probably use more of your time. (But if you're truly passionate you probably won't even notice it)
This year (2024) board compensation was introduced, so being part of the Boost board won't leave you completely empty-handed. The exact amount of compensation will be decided once we confirm the budget for 2025.

The compensation model was made so, that board members do not necessarily don't need to work so much along their studies. So let's see what the Association will decide regarding the next year.
It's not a walk in the park to become a board member as there are many applicants every year.
If you want to maximize your chances, focus on the following things:
This depends completely on you and where you study. But for example in University of Turku there is a course called "Boost related activities", where you can 2-6 credits on depending how much you participate. So it's not a given thing, but if you actively participate it's quite easy to get 6 credits.
